Office on Volunteerism and Community Service Staff

Ms. Nikki Nicholau, Executive Director - Directs the overall operation of the Office on Volunteerism and Community Service.

Mr. Eric Atkinson, Communications Manager - Manages communication projects and interactive properties to increase and enhance public awareness of service and volunteerism.

Ms. Kimberly Brown, Training and Development Officer - Coordinates program development and training for national and community service programs in Virginia under the PDAT (Program Development Assistance and Training) funds and guidance.

Ms. Gail Doyle, Public Relations & Marketing Specialist - Copywriter and content manager for all internal and external communications including interactive media, press releases, and collateral.

Mr. Franklin Wallace, Jr., Manager, AmeriCorps - Supervision of Program Officers and over all program administration of the AmeriCorps programs; directs and ensures compliance and proper operation of AmeriCorps programs consistent with applicable federal and state policies and regulations by ensuring timely and proper technical assistance and clarification of policies and regulations.

Mr. Charles Nicholson, Financial Officer - Assures fiscal accountability for Virginia AmeriCorps Programs for both State and Federal funding sources.

Ms. Susan Patton, Executive Assistant - Communications activities; liaison to Virginia Commission for National and Community Service.

Ms. Yvonne Vaughan, Program Officer - Monitors assigned programs; maintains the Web-based Reporting System help desk; provides WBRS training and coordination for programs and Office staff; acts as liaison to National Trust Office; manages the internal contracting process for Commission grantees.

Ms. Cathy Walker, Resource Specialist - Provides technical assistance and customer service to community-based organizations; reviews and develops resources and tools relating to funding research, grant writing, volunteer management, capacity-building and assessment.

Ms. Valerie Whitfield, Executive Assistant - Assists in monitoring the 2-1-1 VIRGINIA/Information & Referral Program; monitors expenditures and process vouchers for the 2-1-1 VIRGINIA/I&R budget; assists with other Division duties as directed.

Mr. Steve Whitman, Program Officer - Monitors assigned programs; provides assistance to assigned programs concerning AmeriCorps member issues; ensures program accountability of assigned AmeriCorps programs; coordination of AmeriCorps grant application and review process.

Ms. Kittie H. Winston, Faith-Based and Community Collaborations Specialist - Facilitates communication and provides technical assistance to community partners and agencies to coordinate faith-based services to meet community needs; coordinates training/outreach activities; coordinates faith-based and other volunteers for emergency response and recovery; manages database of services for Information and Referral.
