About AmeriCorps State Funding
Funding for AmeriCorps State is provided the Corporation for National and Community Service in support of programs that improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagements through service and volunteering. AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations to recruit, train, and manage AmeriCorps service members who address unmet community needs. As AmeriCorps members, individuals may:
- Become engaged in structured community service
- Receive a living allowance
- Receive an education award to help pay for their college education
Before attending a session, organizations interested in learning more about AmeriCorps and the application process should review our Virginia AmeriCorps presentations.
The Request for Proposal for receiving funds through an AmeriCorps State grant will be released in January 2008, and will be posted at www.vaservice.org and eVA (http://eva/). Any questions or requests for assistance should be directed to info@vaservice.org.
