The case for support is a compelling, energetic story of why anyone should invest in your work & lies at the heart of your organization's message. This workshop will allow participants to define & put the case statement process in the context of the fund development process. Participants will explore the key questions to ask when beginning the process of writing a case statement, review the essential information to gather, & discuss the timeline necessary to create a high energy document. A critique of real-life case statement will be employed.

VA Mentoring Partnership (VMP) Awards Luncheon and Mentoring Conference
The 8th Annual Virginia Mentoring Awards Luncheon will honor mentors and mentoring programs that have shown exceptional commitment to mentoring young people. Following the awards luncheon, VMP will host the 2010 Mentoring Conference, offering workshops on the Elements of Effective Practice, Resilisancy/Youth Development, Teens and Technology, and Volunteer Management. The luncheon and conference will be held at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.

Join Sally Hartman, VP of Communications at the Hampton Roads Community Foundation and learn to create an annual report that elevates your organization. You will learn tricks of the trade to make your annual report a must-read publication that highlights your organization's successes. You will learn to work with modest budgets, adapt your publication to the Internet and avoid common mistakes that plague many publications.
Sally Kirby Hartman, APR, joined the Foundation staff in 1991 after working as an associate editor and staff writer for Virginia Business. She previously was editor of The Tidewater Virginian and was features editor of The Arkansas Gazette. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and Leadership Hampton Roads. She is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America.
