Partnership for People with Disabilities
The Partnership for People with Disabilities is recognized by the federal Administration on Developmental Disabilities as a university center for excellence in developmental disabilities. The Partnership maintains an interdisciplinary approach to all of its activities, which allows it to explore a wide spectrum of professional services and community interests as it seeks to expand opportunities to individuals with disabilities.

Virginia Board for People with Disabilities
The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities serves as the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, addressing the needs of people with developmental disabilities as established under the federal "Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act" and the state "Virginians with Disabilities Act." The Board advises the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the Governor on issues related to people with disabilities in Virginia.

Virginia Dept. of Rehabilitative Services
According to national surveys, when employers of the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services were asked why they haven't hired people with disabilities, the number one response was that they would hire people with disabilities, but they don't know where to find them. One of the most valuable services that DRS has to offer businesses is in the area of staffing-finding knowledgeable, skilled and productive employees who also happen to have a disability.

The site provides information about public benefits and programs for individuals and caregivers, allowing them to search for specific services in their communities. The Web site is specifically designed to be user-friendly with accommodations to make it accessible to individuals with disabilities.
