AmeriCorps
The purpose of AmeriCorps*State is to engage AmeriCorps members in direct service and capacity-building to address unmet community needs. Participants are called members and may receive an education award and other benefits. The program encompasses AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), and AmeriCorps VISTA.

Governor’s Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (GOSAP)
The Governor's Office for Substance Abuse Prevention awards and administers federal grant funds apportioned to Virginia under the State Incentive Grant Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Substance Abuse and Health Services Administration and the Governor's set-aside of Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act funds allocated to Virginia by the U.S. Department of Education, under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.

VDSS Office on Volunteerism and Community Service (OVCS)
The Office on Volunteerism and Community Service (OVCS) serves organizations that strengthen their communities through volunteerism and service. Working with Virginia Corps, the Volunteer Center Network of Virginia and the Governor's Advisory Board on National and Community Service, OVCS promotes a sustainable holistic, cohesive, collaborative statewide system of volunteer service. The office is also responsible for promoting collaborations with faith-based and community organizations for the Virginia Department of Social Services.
