Virginia Board for People with Disabilities
The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities serves as the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, addressing the needs of people with developmental disabilities as established under the federal "Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act" and the state "Virginians with Disabilities Act." The Board advises the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the Governor on issues related to people with disabilities in Virginia.

Virginia Dept. of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services
Available to citizens statewide, Virginia’s public mental health, intellectual disability and substance abuse services system is comprised of 40 locally-run community services boards (CSBs) and 16 state-operated facilities. The CSBs and state facilities serve children and adults who have or who are at risk of mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, intellectual disability, or substance use disorders.
