Homeland Security
New threats and increased demands face our nation's public safety and health, and emergency preparedness officials. Meeting these demands will require action on many fronts, including tapping Virginia's volunteer and national service resources. Virginia must take a proactive approach to emergency preparedness. Not only do we face the possibility of future terrorist attacks, but also other threats such as hurricanes, tornados, and crimes. Networks of agencies and organizations such as Virginia Corps, Virginia Department of Emergency Management, and local Citizens Corps are actively seeking the assistance of volunteers and organizations. If you represent a homeland security or pubic safety agency, contact our office to learn more about applying to become an AmeriCorps program.
